This image was taken with a Canon 20D, at a fair/festival in Rockland, Maine. I snapped a couple frames of this little girl riding the carousel, and I really liked how it looked cropped and converted to B+W, to emphasize her eyes and facial expression and isolate it from her environment.
I love it (with the agreeance that the focus should be on her right (my left) eye). She's a beautiful girl, and she's got such a dreaming stare. Finding out after looking at the photo that she was on a carousel makes me think that it must have been a boring ride

I think a different crop might have been better. Depending on what the frame looked like when you started, I think a vertical frame might have looked better, especially if you could have gotten an identifiable piece of the caresoul in the piece too. As is, it's a nice portrait, but it's kind of confusing because we don't know where she is. We know she's not in a studio, but there aren't enough visual clues to tell us what she's doing that made her look so bored. Plus, this square cropping really cuts down on the motion/energy the full frame might have had.
But, so you don't think I hate it, the exposure is great. Your depth of field is awesome. You kept the background from getting distracting, which in carnival photos is probably pretty tough. Focus is pretty good too. All in all I like it quite a bit.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
